Bakuhatsu

Late last year we had the pleasure of working with Pick Up Productions, a music production company based in the Washington DC area. We recorded our (unreleased) song "Bakuhatsu" at their studio in Kensington, Maryland. Check it out below.

Bakuhatsu is one of many songs on our upcoming release, which we're putting finishing touches on this month. We'll hopefully have more news soon as to a potential release date.

Until then, be safe, don't do drugs, and stay in school.

Doubleheader

On October 19th, we're playing two shows in two cities, 227 miles apart, because we are a bunch of beasts.

At 1:30AM, we're representing DC at the Deli Magazine CMJ Showcase at the Delancey in NYC.

At 10PM, we're playing at Comet Ping Pong in DC, where we're opening for Berlin-based Thieves Like Us.

Fans that make it to both shows will get vouchers for guitar lessons from our very own Neel Singh (market value $0).

930 Club and Empire Trashed

Good news! On September 22, you can break your usual Saturday routine of watching Titanic alone while eating a whole pack of Kraft Singles by coming to 930 club to see us open up for Papadosio. Click on the logo above for more info and a ticket link.

I also neglected to post our new video for Empire Trashed to this site, so here it is. It's our first official video that features Kristina on vocals. Enjoy.

Black Cat Show and New Single

We felt really bad about not updating our site for a month so to make it up to you, we're headlining a show at the Black Cat in Washington, DC on Saturday, March 3, hosted by Sweet Tea Pumpkin Pie where we'll be joined by Teen Mom, Mittenfields, and Sam Cooper and the Sleepwalkers (I was trying to go for the record for number of links in a sentence there, and I'm pretty sure I just won).

While you recover from the awe and amazement you just felt being witness to my hyperlink overload, check out our newly released single, "Santo Domingo", which will be featured on our upcoming album (out sometime this Spring.)

We're offering the track as a download on our Bandcamp site, so you can put it on your Zune or whatever the hipsters are using these days.

Last but not least, the Black Cat show will be the first show for our new bassist/guitarist/man-bear Kevin Marimow.

Two shows this weekend

Thanks to all those in NYC who came out to see us at Arlene's Grocery this past Saturday.

We're playing at Band Kamp in Rockville (12017 Nebel St., Rockville, MD 20852) this Friday. Check out the Facebook event here. Doors are at 7:30, it costs $10, and most importantly, the venue is BYOB.

The following day we're returning to the Rock and Roll Hotel on H Street in DC for a benefit concert in memory of Alex Finamore. Doors at 7PM, tickets are $15, and Drop Electric goes on at 9PM. Click here for the Facebook page.

All proceeds from this show will be donated to "The Alexander Tatge Finamore Scholarship Fund" at UNC School of Law.

See you there.

January Shows

We will be playing shows on consecutive Saturdays in January. The first will take place at Arlene's Grocery in NYC's Lower East side on January 7th - our set time is 9PM.

The following Saturday, we will be returning to Rock and Roll Hotel in Washington DC for a benefit concert in memory of Alex Finamore. Alex was an aspiring young lawyer, a fellow musician, and an all-around great guy. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to a foundation set up in Alex's name at his alma-mater, UNC Law School. Also on the bill are Pants Velour and 2nd Revolution.

Here is the Facebook event for the show.

See you there.

DCWeek Opening Party at 930 Club

We have been chosen as one of the bands to play at the DC Week Opening Party at the 9:30 club on November 4th!

This is easily the most exciting development for Drop Electric since Neel learned the basic fundamentals of guitar playing a few weeks ago. Thanks to everyone for their votes and support.

Tickets are $20 - make sure you buy them soon, as the event was sold out last year. Make sure to use this link or click on the picture to the right when making ticket purchases so we can get credit for the sale and add to our (still very hypothetical) mountain of gold bullion.

2 October Shows

We'll be the Saturday headliners for Sweet Tea Pumpkin Pie, a two-day musical festival that will be taking place over Columbus Day weekend in Washington DC. We're currently slated to play at 12AM.

We're also excited to announce that we'll be playing Sullivan Hall in New York City at 8:00PM on Saturday, October 15. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.

The odds of you being disappointed by either show is 0%.
